In Tel Israel four children, Julia, Noa, Aron and Frank go to Israel for a short holiday. A prize they won for their school project.

In Israel they meet the archaeologist David Horowitz, he is their guide during this special journey, a journey through the country and through time. They are introduced to kings such as David and Hezekiah. They meet political leaders such as Theodor Herzl and David Ben-Goerion, but especially ordinary people.

The experiences during this trip are told on the basis of beautiful cartoon drawings that Danker Jan Oreel made. André Diepenbroek wrote an exciting scenario. Beautifully designed timelines provide a good historical overview.
